Status update, meetings, plans...

Lots of first-time bloggers encounter it shortly after opening. Didier phrased it perfectly: this blog thing takes time! But here's a little update on things, at least. Also, a meeting is being scheduled, in case you're interested in attending.

It's been a while since I last updated the site. This is regrettable, but also expectable. It's been very busy at work as I'm trying to get Snelsite, the truly XHTML-compliant Content Management System that powers this website and already a few customers' sites, finished and ready for mass deployment. More on Snelsite in a soon-to-come future post, which will be a useful read if you've ever wondered about why this site doesn't support comments or Atom/RSS feeds yet.

But more things are happening in my world: I'm currently working on a CSS Zen Garden design, which I've been meaning to do for almost a year now. So far, I'm about 40-50% done with the design, which prominently features a picture of my town that I took on a beautiful autumn morning while heading to work.

That aside, I've also been planning a new Web Standards meetup with my Dutch partners in CSS-crime, scheduled for November 6th in Utrecht, The Netherlands. So far, present at this meeting will be:

Update (oct. 29): the list has been updated.

As with all meetings from before, any and all who are interested in joining us as we talk about CSS (primarily) are welcome. For more details about the meeting, please check out Mark's overview on the meeting.

As for this site itself, I can only inform you that I'm planning a new article (on XHTML again) and hope to get a good portion of that done this weekend. I'm also looking into adding RSS and Atom feeds to the site, so that people can stay updated more easily. Other stuff is high on my To-do list, but will have to wait until more things get done at work.
