Badge her badge her clogger clogger...
A badge, a clog, a meeting, a group. What's this nonsense? A new post!
Are websites male or female? It doesn't matter. There's news to be announced, so I'm announcing, whether my site is female or not.
Flickr Badge
I've added a Flickr badge to my site. Two things I noticed about doing so:
- I haven't been on Flickr very long yet, so I shouldn't feel bad about taking "so damn long" to do this;
- Flickr's badge isn't XHTML-compliant. It uses
document.write()Javascript, which doesn't work inapplication/xhtml+xmlmode.
The latter is, however, not an issue right now, as I'm the only person who actually gets the application/xhtml+xml MIME-type sent to him. Why not everyone who supports it? Well, that's a long story, and not relevant right now.
Happy Clog
While I haven't yet gotten round to writing the full report on last sunday's first Happy Clog meeting, I can say that the next meeting is scheduled for:
Saturday, september 24th, 14:00. The location is the King Arthur café, in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The meeting starts at 14:00 but there will be a group gathering at 13:30 inside Utrecht Centraal station, at the meeting point. This so that those of you who aren't familiar with Utrecht enough to find their way to the King Arthur on their own can just walk along with the Happy Clog group.
As I'll personally be in the United States during this time (Minneapolis to be precise), I can't attend the second official meeting, nor organise it fully. So, I leave the second meeting in the capable hands of Mark Wubben.
If you're planning on attending this second Happy Clog meeting, add your name in Mark's wiki! That way, we'll have an indication of how many people to expect.
Suffice to say, an agenda for this meeting will be put together before then, and unless something really bad happens to me I'll have the report of the first meeting finished and posted by then, too.

GHAH! That's it. Flickr is evil.
You should get this information on the Happy Clog website.
Alper: good point, haven't gotten to that but I really should do that ASAP :)
Hayo: geeze, give me a moment to fix their markup mess, willya? ;-) It's fixed now, btw. :-)
Yours doesn't have a penis now does it?
Well, use the Flickr specific things in a separate document and then use an
objecttag to include them in your page.Then you can still use
application/xhtml+xml.For more info, see: http://keystonewebsites.com/articles/adsense.php
But then there's still the long story, Robert :-)
Forget the long story, just implement content negotiation as well :-)
heh, excellent, a dutch web standards "coalition" :D
this meeting could be interesting, especially since i've just started a standards webdesign company.(Fluxility)
Can not seem to access the wiki though (i get a 502).
if i actually make plans on going, and the wiki still doesn't work, i'll try to bother mark or you :)
Oh my, oh my. I really wanted to come, but I can't. Right when there's something like this going on, I'm on a trip to Rome. Crap.
Is there any follow-up meeting already scheduled? If so, I'll surely attend there.
Peter,
There are monthly meetings, from now on. :-)
That's awesome. I'll probably be attending the meeting after the upcoming one then!
