So much to do...

· By Faruk Ateş on Nov 8, 2005 · 3 comments ·

This is going to be short, as the title of this post implies a very important aspect to my life right now: a complete lack of time to do everything I want to (nay, need to) do. So, keeping it simple, an update in a nutshell.

I've uploaded a whole bunch of pictures to my Flickr.com account. They're a pretty decent selection, and now that I have a Pro account, I've been able to upload all the original versions. Takes quite a while, 30 odd pics of 2-3 MB a piece. Either way, I hope you like them. Most of them were taken on my recent trip to the Twin Cities, Minnesota.

Next up: blogs. I've been entirely unable to keep up with blogs, and the few that some people pointed me to are making me consider unsubscribing from them. I have about 2800 blog posts in my NetNewsWire waiting to be read, and every time I start it up, between 100 and 700 (!) get added again. Most of it can be ignore, but I still feel a need to verify, to skim over the headlines just to make sure I'm not missing out on something geniuinely awesome. However, as a result I've been seemingly absent from the blogosphere. Regrettable, but for the time being, inevitable. If you wrote something wicked cool and really want me to take a look at it, please, just drop me a line. I make time for people who take some time to be more special.

My good friend Zach tossed me a meme and while I have started to try and keep them off of here again, this one may prove interesting. So I'll take it up, however, due to lack of time and such, I'm not going to pass it on to anyone. I know I've said that before, this time I mean it. If you like this meme and want to "steal" it, please, by all means, go ahead. If you do, let me know. Maybe I'll track who all makes use of the meme, with a link to their meme-entries. Time-consuming? Nah...

Describe yourself and your site in one word?

Well that's a fun one, but geeze... talk about forcing upon you food for thought and then some.

Egotistical as this may sound, I do feel very strongly that I am a man of many faces. I can blend in seemlessly with very different types of crowds, I am moderately respected for my design skills, database skills, programming skills, markup skills, accessibility knowledge, people often enjoy my pictures on Flickr... So I guess there's only one word that really applies to me:

Versatile

I would've gone for thinly spread but that's two words, so no option.

Next up is describing my site in one word. Sheesh! Well, I can cop out on this one and still pretty much hit the spot:

Experimental

It's been mentioned many a times, by many great people, but your own website is, if anything, the perfect playground for experimentation. It certainly is for me, as you are probably well aware of.

With that done, this "short" entry will now be published, after which I will enjoy a nice, short, five hours of sleep. I can live with that.

Oh, is anyone here going to d.Construct this friday? If so, let me know, we should meet up for a drink!

Glad you did it :) I got scared i'd start up a meme and no one would answer it, lol. I thought they were good questions :) it really is food for thought isn't it. You don't want to be egotistical but you do want to be honest :)

I know a few people who are going to d.Construct(and one I made to goto SXSW)(he missed you at @media), he hangs on Cherry so you should see him sometime.
